Cousins!

My sister-in-law had her baby 10 days after Penny was born on 1/19/11 - Ryan Edward. We got the babies together so the cousins could meet for the first time. My parents were here for a week and got to spend lots of time with both babies and were just over joyed to get both of them together!

Here is the four of us holding the babies!

And here is our first family picture!

My husband is a saint...

For Poppy's 90th birthday, Andy made a picture frame and put in a picture that I took of the whole family last Christmas. It was a joint gift. From both of us. Him and me.

We received a thank you note yesterday. It thanked Andy for the beautiful picture and frame. Said how wonderful it was. How special.

Me: He only thanked you. I mean, I took the picture. And printed it out.
Andy: I told him you took the picture.
Me: I know, but he didn't even mention that. He just said how wonderful it was that you made the frame for him. Nothing about me at all.
Andy: I don't know what to say.
Me: Everybody loves Andy! He's so helpful! He's makes things! He fixes things around the house! He's nice to everyone! My whole family likes you more than they like me!
Andy: That's not true...
Me: I should have married someone lazy and stupid.

Happy 90th Birthday Poppy!

Today my grandfather turns 90 years old! There is a big party being held in his honor and we are so excited that we get to be with him on such a big day. He is still very active, runs and walks every day, travels, and isn't planning on slowing down any time soon. We love him and wish him many more birthdays!!

Christmas in Connecticut

Next, we drove up to Connecticut to stay with my parents for a few days. Here is my parent's Christmas tree...

It was fun seeing family and friends who still live in the area, like Grace (my best friend) and her husband Shawn. Grace really wants a dog but Shawn keeps saying no, so we made him come over to spend a little quality time with Henry. He'll be changing his mind in no time!

Lots of presents were exchanged. Here is my mom modeling the scarf I knit for her!

And Henry, never one to be left out, had to get in on the action!

Even Henry got a present from "Grandma and Grandpa"!! (Can you tell they are anxious for some grand kids???)

My brother Matt, who is a huge Red Sox fan, got a very special gift this year. An autographed ball from one of the players! Which one was it Matt??

And last but not least, Handy Andy got another tool!! :)

Happy Birthday Husband!

Dear A,

Recently we saw a movie named Juno. It's about a teenager that gets pregnant and decides to put the baby up for adoption. While she is pregnant, Juno is forced to grow up and realizes that the father of her child, who she though was just her friend, might be more than just that. There is a scene in the movie where she is just realizing what this boy means to her and asks her father for advice. And he says to her...

"In my opinion, the best thing you can do is find a person who loves you for exactly what you are. Good mood, bad mood, ugly, pretty, handsome, what have you, the right person will still think the sun shines out your ass. That's the kind of person that's worth sticking with."

That's exactly how I feel about you. I love you for exactly what you are and to me, the sun will always shine out your ass. Because it's a really nice ass.

Happy Birthday!

Love,

e

p.s. You are the best husband, ever. (it says so on the internet)

Happy Father's Day!!

Happy Father's Day Dad! Hope you're having a great, fun, relaxing day. I'm sure you are now that I'm "grown up" and not giving you gray hair anymore!! :)

Here is a picture of my Dad. He's the one in the middle and the bride is my best friend Grace and her new husband Shawn. This was back in February of this year.

(See all those gray hairs? I'm responsible for about 95% of them. My brother Matt gets the other 5%. Good job, Matt!)

Happy Father's Day to my father-in-law Jim, too! He's not only a father, but a grandfather too!
