# 3 Henry!

I wanted a dog for so long, but as a renter, it's not easy to own one. The day we closed on our first house, I was ready. But, we/A decided to wait a while, and then last spring, we saw an add in the paper for English Springer Spaniels. That's how Sir Henry came to the Zoo.

The first time we went to see him, he was 5 days old. Here he is with mom and all 8 of his siblings...

Mom's name was Maggie Mae, which was also the name of my dog when I was growing up, so I knew immediately it was meant to be.

Here's my little man... his eye's aren't even open yet!

We went back to visit him at the breeder's house almost every weekend till we got to bring him home. Here's Henry checking out his backyard for the first time...

That night, we got a crash course in owning a puppy. He whined, barked and howled all night for what seemed like a year. In reality, it was about a week. It has been so much fun watching him grow up this past year though. We've been through house training, puppy classes, new toys, new experiences, travel, learning to swim, seeing snow for the first time... the list goes on and on! My little boy is almost 1 year old and I love him to bits.

There are times that he has tried our patience. I could give a long list of things that he has chewed, destroyed and ruined. Our backyard will never be the same. Every plant, shrub and flower has been chewed, dug up or just all around obliterated by Henry. I can't tell you the number of times I looked out the back door last summer to see him with one of my flowers, roots and all hanging out of his mouth!

But them you have moments like these, were all seems right in the world...

Can you feel the love?!?

Hey there, it's Will. This is fun, now we can definitely keep up with all of the fun little guys in your house there. Jaime and I have blogs but they are super serious.... Nice to see all the pics...

Hmm... with the exception of chewing the flowers, your description of Henry sounds a little like a description of one of my toddlers!! ;-)
