Babies & Bunnies

So we didn't end up bringing home the new bunny.  The day care decided to keep him there for a while longer.  We told them to let us know if they ever change their minds!  He is a really sweet rabbit.

But we did find a great way to help Pumpkin get some exercise!  Check it out:

Being chased by a baby seems to keep her on the move!  (notice Guinevere just lays there watching until Penny tries to touch her!)

Coming up on a year...

Excuse me while I wipe the dust off this blog!

It's been a crazy, busy, fun, exhausting, exciting, chaotic, lovely, wonderful few months.  I swear this kid grows every day.  She is crawling all over the place, pulling herself up on everything, trying to walk, climb and destroy every inch of our house!  The animals are not so sure about this new, mobile baby.  She follows them around, tries to play with them, steal their toys, and pull their tails!  They are taking it in stride however.  Henry thinks she is fun, Guinevere believes she is just another human servant to wait on her, Arthur avoids her like the plague and Pumpkin ignores her like she ignores all of us!  So all in all, Penny is fitting right in.

But want to hear the craziest thing of all?!?  We are planning Penelope's first birthday party which is less than a month away!!  How crazy is that?!?  And right after that she is heading off to college.  Kidding:)

So, I need some advice from all you bunny people out there in blog world...  The day care that Penny goes to is looking to re-home their rabbit.  He does really well with the kids, is super friendly and patient, but apparently some of the parents are complaining that the cage smells.  They know we are experienced rabbit owners and have asked us if we would take him.  The last thing I want is for him to end up in a shelter so my instinct is to say yes, and I really want to and probably will but I'm trying to decide if I am going to try to bond him with Pumpkin, or just keep them in separate spaces and not try to get them together.  Pumpkin is getting up there in years (she is around 6-7 years old), and Edgar is a 3 year old neutered male.  I would love for Pumpkin to have another friend, but I also don't want to stress her out.

What do you think?  Should I try to bond them?  Or just enjoy them separately?  Not sure what to do!  What do you think?

Guinevere & Henry

I shot this video of Guinevere grooming Henry last night.  If you listen closely you can here Penny babbling in the background too:)

6 months

Holy cow.  This kid is 6 months old already!  Half a year has passes since she was born.  Andy and I joke all the time that having a baby is like the ultimate science experiment.  All the amazing changes she has gone through have been fascinating to watch.  She can sit up on her own now, eats all kinds of mushy food, laughs constantly, recognizes us in a crowd of people, and that smile!  It kills me daily.  It melts my heart and makes my soul soar at the same time.

I just got back from a trip to South Carolina to visit my grandfather (Penny's great-grandfather).  My brother and his wife and son came along with my parents too.  More 4 generation pics!

I think this is my favorite picture from the trip.  Penny just wanted to reach out and touch her great-grandfather all the time.  She just loved holding his hand!

5 Months

Penny is 5 months old already!  And I'm so late writing this she will be 6 months soon.  There doesn't seem to be enough hours in the day anymore.  Between working and taking care of this little one and all our furry friends, life is certainly hectic.

We spend a week on Cape Cod earlier in the month.  It was a bit cold, but we had a great time.  My parents came and Andy's dad so we had lots of baby care help, which was great!  Penny is rolling over a lot these days, trying to crawl (but can't!), eating solids, smiling, laughing, and generally just being an absolute joy.

It has taken me all day to write this post!  I'm giving up now and am going to just hit publish:)
